Google Search Console is a free Google service that shows how your site is found and indexed. Adding your site there is the first step to getting new pages recognized faster.
Pick a property type
Search Console offers two property types. A domain property covers every subdomain and protocol, and you verify it with a DNS TXT record. A URL-prefix property only covers the address you enter, and you can verify it with an HTML file or a meta tag. If you manage the domain's DNS, go with a domain property.
Verify ownership
Follow the on-screen steps. For DNS, add the TXT record Google gives you at your domain provider, then press Verify. DNS changes can take a while to show up.
Submit your sitemap
Open the Sitemaps menu and enter your sitemap address, for example sitemap.xml. Make sure every address in it uses your final domain and HTTPS. A sitemap helps Google find pages, but it does not guarantee they get indexed.
Request indexing for key pages
Paste a page address into the URL Inspection field at the top. If the page is not on Google yet, press Request Indexing. Do this only for your home page and main pages, because the number of requests per day is limited.
Watch the results
The Pages report shows which pages are indexed and why others are not. Check it every few days during the first week. If a page is stuck, read why a page is not showing up on Google.
